Med-Dyne was founded as Johnson Medical Specialties, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky on August 1, 1993 by E.W. Johnson, Jr., the president of Med-Dyne. At that time, the company focused solely on the wholesaling of filters for concentrators. Within a few months of operation, the company was able to acquire the assets of Terra-Con, Inc., a Vermont company also supplying air filtration devices. The Terra-Con operation was relocated to Louisville and operated under the name of Johnson Medical Specialties, Inc.

The following year, Johnson Medical Specialties, Inc. purchased Medical Specialties Products, Inc., a Santa Ana, California company specializing in infant apnea monitoring accessories. The two companies merged to become Premier Medical Products, Inc., which operated from the Louisville location.

In 1995, Premier Medical Products, Inc. began to create its own filters for concentrators. The company also acquired TransAmerica TENS, located in Connecticut who specialized in TENS units and accessories. The TransAmerica TENS operation was moved to Louisville and operated under the Premier Medical Products, Inc. name.

A year later, Premier Medical Products, Inc, changed the company name to Med-Dyne and continues to operate under the Med-Dyne logo. In 1997, Med-Dyne began to produce CPAP filters. Med-Dyne continued to grow and in 1999 the production of infant apnea, ECG and sleep monitoring accessories began. During the next six years, Med-Dyne developed and marketed Bio-Feedback accessories. In 2005, Med-Dyne acquired Kentucky Kutter, Inc., a die press facility, as well as ElectraMold, a wire processing and injection molding company. Both companies were moved to the Louisville, KY. In the same year Med-Dyne submitted an application with the Food and Drug Administration and was approved to produce pediatric electrodes.

During the summer of 2006 Med-Dyne relocated to a state of the art facility near the University of Louisville campus. Here, future growth and acquisitions are expected to occur.

Med-Dyne prides itself on being an industry leader in interconnect devices, Bio-Feedback and Air Filtration Device production. Med-Dyne is proud of its long history in the medical industry. The quality of production and customer service has helped us maintain an excellent reputation with our customers and will allow us the opportunity for future growth.

Thanks,
E. W. Johnson, Jr.
